Our headquarters in Enschede (the Netherlands) is home to a multidisciplinary team responsible for engineering, design, R&D, and project execution for installations across Europe.

To strengthen our engineering team in Enschede, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks) — a technically skilled professional who can translate ideas into high-quality technical solutions.

Your role as a Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks)

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will join our engineering department in Enschede and work closely with colleagues across the HoSt Group. This includes daily collaboration with our production company, InstalSolutions in Poland.

You will play a key role in designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies, and complete systems for our renewable energy installations. Through your work, you will directly contribute to accelerating the energy transition and shaping innovative, sustainable solutions for the future.

Your main responsibilities

  • Design and develop 3D models of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems in SolidWorks

  • Create detailed technical drawings, assembly instructions, and manufacturing specifications

  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant engineering standards and industry requirements

  • Analyse existing designs and implement improvements to enhance functionality, cost efficiency, and manufacturability

  • Perform physical tests, validations, and simulations in cooperation with our production facility (InstalSolutions Poland)

  • Prepare and maintain complete technical documentation, including reports, test results, and change requests

  • Collaborate closely with production, procurement, and quality to ensure a smooth design-to-production process

  • Support troubleshooting and resolve technical challenges during both design and production phases

Job requirements

Our requirements

  • A bachelor's-level (HBO) degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field;

  • Experience with SolidWorks (3D modelling, drawings, assemblies);

  • Knowledge of product development from concept to production, including material selection and manufacturing processes;

  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science and production techniques;

  • Experience in solving complex technical challenges;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Proactive, accurate and solution-driven mindset;

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;
