2 Upscaling AEM electrolyser technology
Suitable for BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics
In the HyScale project, hydrogen production by an electrolyser based on Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) technology is developed. Part of the development is the Life cycle analysis (LCA) of the technology. In the internship various configurations of a 10 MW AEM electolyser will be evaluated by process modelling and component analyses. The output is an optimised configuration with suitable input for the LCA.
Your tasks:
Create process models of 10MW electrolyser configurations;
Analyse energy use, waste production per kg of produced Hydrogen;
Select and analyse suitable components for LCA input;
Reporting of the most optimal 10 MW configuration.
