As a Senior Area Sales Manager, we will give you the space and trust to operate independently, travel internationally, and position our technical solutions at a high level.

HoSt Group is a leading international technology developer and supplier of bioenergy installations. The Thermal Technology business unit focuses on innovative thermal solutions, such as biomass and RDF combustion plants, steam boilers, and CHP systems, which convert waste streams into sustainable energy. With offices in more than 10 countries and dozens of projects completed worldwide, we are actively building a sustainable energy supply.

Your impact: contributing strategically and operationally to international growth

As Senior Area Sales Manager, you will represent our Thermal Technology business unit, where you will be responsible for developing markets in Europe, building strategic customer relationships, and achieving sustainable growth. You will be responsible for the entire sales process—from market exploration and acquisition to contract negotiations and after-sales.

You will work closely with your sales colleagues from our head office in Enschede. Remote working is of course no problem.

In addition, you will work closely with engineering, project management, and R&D to provide customized solutions in the field of thermal conversion technologies, including incinerators and combined heat and power plants. Your customers are active in a wide range of sectors and industries, e.g. municipalities, waste processing/recycling, saw-, pulp and paper mills, agriculture, and many more.

Your responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing an international sales strategy with a strong focus on the European continent;

  • Identifying and following up on commercial opportunities within new and existing markets;

  • Building and maintaining strategic customer relationships at the decision-maker level;

  • Providing presentations, quotations, and negotiations with a focus on technical content and commercial feasibility;

  • Participating in (international) trade fairs, customer visits, and project locations;

  • Providing input to product development based on customer needs and market signals.

  • Conducting market research and identifying new opportunities, including investigating subsidy options per country;

  • You will spend approximately 30% of your time on international customer visits, strengthening long-term relationships and identifying commercial opportunities. In addition, you will proactively maintain contact through online meetings and strategic one-on-one conversations.

What are we looking for?

  • At least 5 years of relevant international B2B sales experience, preferably in the technical/industrial energy sector;

  • A completed higher professional education or university degree in, for example, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a commercial/technical field;

  • Demonstrable experience with long sales processes, tenders, and complex decision-making;

  • Excellent communication skills and persuasiveness at a strategic level;

  • Independence, entrepreneurship, and a results-oriented mindset;

  • Willingness to travel internationally (30%);

  • Fluent in Dutch and English; other languages are an advantage.
