1 Cutting Watts, Boosting Green: Energy Insights in Biogas

Suitable for BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering / Sustainable Energy

As an intern in the Energy & Process Optimization team, you'll analyze electricity usage across a biogas plant. Using real measurements, you’ll identify energy-hungry equipment, calculate kWh per Nm³ biogas produced, and advise on efficiency improvements. A unique chance to combine electrical engineering with sustainability.

Your tasks:

• Measure and log energy consumption of key biogas process equipment using power analyzers;

• Calculate and compare energy use per Nm³ of biogas across process steps;

• Visualize findings in clear graphs and tables and KPI’s for internal reporting;

• Propose technical optimizations to reduce electrical energy use.
