Job description

For the Bright Renewables engineering department we are looking for interns! The following internships / graduation assignments are available. Apply using the apply button and select the (graduation) internship you are interested in.

Membrane Testing

Bright delivers biogas upgrading systems, in these systems methane and carbon dioxide are separated using membrane technology. Thereby, the methane quality is enriched for injection in the natural gas grid. In this internship you will experimentally determine the performance of (novel) membranes for application in current and future Bright products.

Your tasks:

  • Setup of membrane testing;
  • Planning and performing experimental work on biogas location;
  • Processing and analysis of experimental data;
  • Recommendations for process design.

Predictive Maintenance

Bright has more than 100 installations operational in the field of which half of the also have a maintenance contract. To increase the availability/reliability of the upgrading installations and reduce maintenance cost, Bright has started the implementation of a predictive maintenance program. This program consists of several key points: data-acquisition and storage, data analysis and interpretation, and the determination of additional measurements required (e.g. vibration analysis of rotating equipment). In preparation of this program Bright has already acquired several years of data available for analysis, ranging from pressure/temperature readings to environmental variables and performance indicators.

Your tasks:

  • Remaining Useful Life estimations (RUL) of carbon filters;
  • Condition Monitoring of biogas compressor/blowers and membranes;
  • Fault and anomaly detection in the upgrader;
  • Execution of (small) experiments, e.g. measuring noise emissions on site.
