Job description

For the Bright Renewables engineering department we are looking for interns! The following internships / graduation assignments are available. Apply using the apply button and select the (graduation) internship you are interested in.

CO2 Liquefaction

Suitable for BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Sustainable Energy

Bright has developed technology for liquefaction CO2 from biogas upgrading or carbon capture installations. The first installations are installed and currently in starting-up or running. During this internship you will monitor the installations, collecting and analyze data. The main goal is to identify the CO2 recovery and energy consumption and improve energy efficiency and/or recovery the installation.

Your tasks:

  •  Monitoring and analysis of plant data;
  • Recommendations for improvement;
  • Research options for heat recovery and integration;
  • Setup and execute test plans to confirm hypotheses.

Methanol synthesis

Suitable for BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Sustainable Energy

Bright delivers biogas upgrading systems, in these systems methane and carbon dioxide are separated using membrane technology. Thereby, the methane quality is enriched for injection in the natural gas grid (if required liquefaction is also possible). Furthermore, technology for the capture and liquefaction of CO₂ are also delivered. One of the next developments for Bright is the utilization of the captured CO₂ for production of renewable methanol.
In this internship you will work on the development of the demonstration set-up as well as the development of the future product line of methanol reactors. The aim of the internship is expanding upon the optimal process design and sizing of the methanol systems within the Bright scope. Also work will be performed to incorporate the required lessons to be learned into the demonstration system currently being made.

Your tasks:

  • Research into available process equipment;
  • Detail design of process equipment;
  • PID/PFD development;
  • Technology sizing/compliance to the technology portfolio of the HoSt group;
  • Techno-economic assessment of made designs;
